UN condemns “hate speech” in Libya
The United Nations Support Mission in Libya (UNSMIL) condemned the “hate speech” that is rampant in the country.
This was reflected in a tweet published by UNSMIL on Saturday, the International Day to Combat Hate Speech, celebrated on 18 June.
The UN mission also stated that “this kind of rhetoric in Libya is being used to accentuate political polarization”.
“The mission reiterates its commitment to defending the right of all citizens to express their opinions in a peaceful manner,” the same source adds.
