“Vampire” virus leaves scientists
Astonished Scientists have discovered a unique virus that resembles a “vampire,” as this virus is exceptional and astonishing in its integrative process.
This discovery came after examining a soil sample, revealing that this virus “bites” another virus, forming a connection with it to survive within an unprecedented biological evolution.
Tajeddi de Carvalho, director of the imaging unit at the University of Maryland, made the discovery in March 2020 while examining a soil sample. These organisms were part of a group of viruses that target bacteria.
These organisms are considered one of the most widespread life forms on Earth.
The small virus, named MiniFlayer, had lost the ability to reproduce inside cells, leading to biological evolution.
MiniFlayer benefited from attaching to a larger virus known as MindFlayer, using the genetic mechanism of the other virus to successfully reproduce.
While this discovery surprised scientists, it demonstrates the exceptional and amazing abilities of viruses in nature. Scientists expressed admiration for the creative capacity that distinguishes viruses, which no one expected to manifest in such a unique way.
This study represents a significant step in understanding the biological dynamics of viruses and the complex biological interactions between them.
