Washington thanks UAE, Kuwait and Bahrain help for the evacuation from Afghanistan
Washington thanked partner nations and allies that provided assistance in the evacuation process from Afghanistan, led by the UAE, Bahrain and Kuwait.
“We are grateful to partner and allied nations that have provided invaluable assistance for the evacuation from Afghanistan, including the UAE, Bahrain and Kuwait,” State Department under-secretary for political affairs Victoria Nuland said in a press statement.
“We are looking at all possible options and ways to continue to help Americans and permanent residents who are in Afghanistan leave the country,” she said.
“We will continue to maintain contact with the Taliban to protect our interests and those of our allies,” she said.
“The international community will not accept the Taliban as the government of Afghanistan if it returns to its old, hard-line practices,” she said.
From the very first moment of the fall of the Government of Afghanistan, the United Arab Emirates has been quick to declare its readiness to contribute to facilitating the evacuation of foreign nationals from Afghanistan, which it has immediately embarked upon without delay or delay.
“Over the past days, it has continued to evacuate thousands of foreign diplomats, Afghan nationals who worked with them and those who wanted to leave the country for the difficult conditions in Kabul after it fell to the Taliban.”
It also inaugurated an air bridge from Kabul to the airports of the United Arab Emirates, opening its arms to many airplanes from all over the world, to evacuate foreigners and Afghans through Hamid Karzai’s airport; It was overrun within days by crowds wanting to flee the country.
The UAE has become a focal point in the evacuation effort from Afghanistan, part of its humanitarian efforts to facilitate access for all parties in these circumstances, receiving hundreds of diplomats, staff of various nationalities and NGOs aboard evacuation flights.
