Which Company Caused a Global Cyber Threat?
CrowdStrike is facing detailed legal scrutiny after its officials admitted to a faulty software update that caused digital chaos worldwide.
CEO George Kurtz said the cause of the outage was a “glitch” in a Windows software update, and their engineers found a solution to the problem. But what do we know about this cybersecurity company?
Founded in 2012, CrowdStrike claims to offer its clients “the world’s most advanced cloud-native platform” for detecting and blocking hacking threats.
According to its website, the company serves 298 of the top 500 global companies, as well as leading technology, automotive, aviation, and healthcare providers.
The company is experiencing a dramatic drop in its stock price and revenue, with early trading on Friday erasing up to 20% of its valuation, equivalent to €14.7 billion.
Its engineers stated that a solution is now in place, but experts warn that we may face a long-term outage as thousands of the company’s clients will have to work on restoring all their systems and devices.
