Yemen – Houthi escalation and multiplication of truce violations
The Houthi terrorist militia escalated its violations of the U.N. truce in Yemen yesterday by launching violent attacks on Yemeni army and resistance positions in Marib province and bombing residential neighborhoods in Taiz.
According to Emarat Al Youm, Houthi militias have pushed more combat reinforcements to the western, southern, and northwestern fronts of Marib after failing to achieve any breakthroughs on al-Kassara front west of Marib.
Field sources confirmed the arrival of 17 Houthi combat vehicles carrying dozens of militia members to the Sirwah district, west of Marib, in preparation for another large-scale attack towards the city of Marib. The attack, which was launched at dawn on the first day of Eid Al-Fitr, failed and was confronted by Yemeni government forces and local resistance.
Houthi militias have launched sporadic and wide-scale attacks on Yemeni army and resistance positions in the Kassara front west of Marib, using various types of weapons including drones, in order to achieve a breakthrough towards the Al-Talaa al-Hamra and Tibat al-Masariya area on the outskirts of Marib city.
Field sources reported that the attack was repelled, a Houthi attack drone was shot down, vehicles were destroyed, several Houthi elements were killed and injured.
In al-Jawf, a Yemeni soldier was killed and another was wounded in a Houthi militia attack on a Yemeni army position east of the provincial capital al-Hazm. Militias shelled Taiz city with heavy artillery for the second day running, causing casualties and damaging a number of civilian homes.
The Yemeni army command in Taiz has called on all combat units to raise their readiness, vigilance and vigilance as Houthi militias continue to violate the truce, the most recent of which was shelling residential villages west of the city on the first day of Eid al-Fitr.
Rashad al-Alimi, chairman of the Presidential Command Council, was briefed on the situation in Marib in light of these violations and attacks by contacting Chief of General Staff Lt. Gen. Saghir bin Aziz, the official Saba agency reported.
Al-Alimi praised the heroism and sacrifices of the Yemeni army and resistance forces, who are confronting these violations that threaten the UN truce with collapse.
