Yemen.. When will Houthi crimes stop in Taiz? Analysts answer
Despite the truce in Yemen, the Houthi terrorist militia continues its plans and terrorism to target the security and stability of Yemen. The terrorist militia has continued its violations of the international truce by targeting the areas of Taiz and committing the most heinous crimes against its citizens, as revealed by local media reports confirming the militia’s brutality and its increasing activity to consolidate its foothold in exploiting the truce.
Heavy bombing
Media reports revealed that the Houthi militia renewed its bombardment of residential compounds in the west of Taiz province, in the southwest of Yemen. They added that Houthi gunmen based in the north of Taiz city shelled the areas of Al-Sayahi and Al-Matrah in the west of the city with heavy artillery, resulting in casualties among residents and damage to a number of houses.
Obstinacy and procrastination
Yemeni political analyst Abdulhafeedh Alnahary said: “The Houthi militia is violating human rights by committing the most heinous crimes in Taiz, as well as continuing violations by blocking international aid to citizens in Taiz and seizing civilian property and charging them royalties.”
The Yemeni political analyst said that the siege of the city of Taiz by the Houthi militia constitutes a “war crime” due to the crimes and breaches of the international truce by the extremist militias. He pointed out that the Houthi is committing crimes against humanity, as these militias are working to circumvent the truce agreement, practice forms of intransigence and procrastination in this humanitarian issue, and refuse to open the main roads for the arrival of aid.
International human right intervention
Abdul Sattar al-Shumairi, a Yemeni political analyst, sai ad there are more than 4 million civilians in Taiz who are facing a difficult fate in light of the crimes and violations committed against humanity by the Iranian-backed Houthi militia.
The political analyst added that international and human rights interventions are necessary against the Houthi militia to stop their crimes, which did not respect any UN intervention or international truce, and their crimes against citizens in Yemen.
