Yemeni forces thwart Houthi attacks in these provinces… Details
“Joint Yemeni forces have repelled several attacks by Houthi terrorist militias in several governorates, including Hodeidah, Marib, and Taiz.”
Field sources in Hodeidah said that clashes renewed at dawn yesterday between the joint forces and the Houthi militias in the lines of contact in the districts of Al-Jarrahi and Hays in the south of the province, according to Yemen News website.
The clashes are the most violent in months and spread as far south as al-Jarrahi district, to the northeast and northwest of Hays district, she said.
“The combined forces responded by pounding the center of fixed and mobile targets of the Houthi militias, inflicting direct human and material losses on their ranks.”
“The fighting coincided with intense overflights by the Houthi-controlled air force in areas south of Hodeidah, and exchanges of artillery and mortar fire took place in the areas.”
In Marib, military sources said, the clashes broke out following failed attempts by Houthi militias to infiltrate positions held by units from the Saba axis on Jabal Buwara, west of Harib.
The sources stated that the battles were accompanied by intensive air traffic, as the air defenses of the 13th Infantry Brigade shot down a Houthi march while flying over military positions in the southern front of Marib. This was the second air raid in less than 24 hours.
In Taiz, intermittent clashes continued on the north-eastern front, following an attempt by Houthi militias to infiltrate army positions on those fronts, killing two infiltrators and wounding five others.
“Since mid-week, Houthi militias have been trying to infiltrate the mountainous terrain near the frontlines west of al-Barah in Maqbanah district, but the joint forces have foiled all attempts.”
