Child Exploitation
The report details the abuse children face, including being shot at by Houthi forces and subjected to sexual violence, including rape, which poses a real threat to their physical and mental well-being. It further explains the exploitation methods in these summer camps, where some children are lured by financial benefits or food rations—an enticing offer amid extreme poverty. Many of these children face abduction, threats, or coercion to join these camps.
The report also highlights the involvement of Hezbollah advisors in reviewing school curricula in public schools and managing the summer camps, reflecting the negative role played by Houthi militias and their allies in ruining children’s lives and damaging their education.

Multiple Crimes
Ahmed Jabari, Yemeni human rights analyst and activist, stated that the violations committed by Houthi militias against children in Yemen include killing, injuring, kidnapping, forced displacement, deprivation of education, sniping, recruitment, and denial of access to healthcare, food, and water. These hardships result from the blockade, excessive force, and the planting of landmines in public roads and schools.
He added that Houthi violations and crimes against children forewarn of a humanitarian catastrophe and constitute crimes against humanity, carried out with clear criminal intent. He noted that Yemeni children are among the groups most severely affected by these rights violations, with Houthi military operations for child recruitment to the frontlines as a major cause of school dropouts.
