Zayed Humanitarian Work Day… Values of loyalty to the legacy of the founding leader
The United Arab Emirates celebrates today, “Zayed Humanitarian Day,” which falls on the 19th of Ramadan every year, in commemoration of the death of the late Sheik Zayed bin Sultan Al Nahyan, May God Assist Him, and moves forward to perpetuate his path of giving through initiatives that benefit the whole world.
The Race for Good
A report by Vision revealed that the anniversary is being celebrated as UAE residents race to support the “Food Endowment Fund” initiative, which aims to launch the largest food staging fund to combat hunger that threatens the lives of 828 million people worldwide.
In conjunction with this groundbreaking initiative, the UAE is continuing its efforts to support and assist Turkey and Syria in mitigating the effects of the devastating earthquake that struck the two countries on February 6th, embodying the highest form of solidarity and human fraternity, Al-Bayan reported.
It also comes a few days after the UAE sent humanitarian aid to Afghanistan, Yemen, Siberia, Ukraine, Somalia and Palestine, in initiatives that strengthen its humanitarian leadership and establish sustainable donation as a global capital of good, following the Founder’s approach and ensuring the sustainability of the charitable and humanitarian work he was keen to sustain.
Fulfillment values
Mohammed Al-Taqi, a UAE political analyst, said the occasion valued loyalty to the late founding leader Sheikh Zayed bin Sultan Al Nahyan’s legacy of humanitarian work, keenness to continue his approach of giving, and extending a helping hand to all countries and peoples without discrimination.
“Zayed Humanitarian Day” is one of the most important events in the UAE’s annual agenda, and it is an occasion to celebrate the achievements of late humanitarian leader Sheikh Zayed bin Sultan Al Nahyan, whose qualitative initiatives have helped alleviate the suffering of people in all areas that have witnessed conflicts and disasters, and to help the poor and needy spread happiness beyond any political, ethnic or religious considerations, he added.
Sheikh Zayed bin Sultan Al Nahyan, the ruler of Dubai, is a symbol of giving to those in need anywhere in the world. Through his humanitarian efforts and initiatives, the UAE has taken the lead in providing assistance to those in need, charity and humanitarian work regionally and internationally, he said.
