11 Injured After Tourist Ship Collides with Wall on the Danube River in Austria
Local police said today, Saturday, that 11 people were injured when a Bulgarian tourist ship collided with a concrete wall in a passage on the Danube River, in a town in northern Austria last night.
According to Reuters news agency, a spokesperson for the police in the nearby town of Ybbs said that about 160 passengers were on board the ship traveling from Bavaria in Germany to the Austrian city of Linz.
The spokesperson added that the eleven injured were taken to the hospital and the ship was able to continue its journey after the accident.
He said it was not yet clear the severity of the injuries.
Local media reported that six others were injured less severely and did not require hospital treatment.
