3 killed in hotel fire in Egypt
Three people have died as a result of a fire that broke out on the rooftop of a well-known hotel in the Dokki district of Giza Governorate, Egypt, on Friday.
Local media reported that the civil defense forces gained control over the fire after deploying firefighting vehicles to the hotel’s location.
It was revealed that the fire erupted on the top floor of the hotel on Tahrir Street in the Dokki district, and the civil defense successfully recovered three charred bodies.
The public prosecution ordered the transfer of the three bodies to a mortuary refrigerator at a nearby hospital for autopsies to determine the causes of death.
Preliminary examination indicated that the fire ignited in a room on the hotel’s rooftop due to an electrical short circuit. The prosecution requested the hotel’s security personnel to provide statements and requested the retrieval of surveillance camera footage.
