500 People Die in Afghan Floods
Sixty-six people have been killed due to new floods in Faryab province, northern Afghanistan, which is experiencing a series of floods, a provincial spokesperson announced on Sunday.
According to “Agence France-Presse,” Ismatullah Muradi stated that heavy rains fell on Saturday evening in several areas, “causing the death of 66 people in Faryab.”
Floods caused by heavy rains had already resulted in the death of 55 people on Saturday in Ghor province (west), according to authorities. At least 300 people have been killed in Baghlan province (north), the most affected area.
