53 Injured in Fire at Cosmetic Factory in Iran
Official Iranian media reported on Tuesday that 53 people were injured in a massive fire and subsequent explosion at a cosmetics factory in the city of Karaj near the capital, Tehran.
Media outlets added that the explosion resulted from a gas leak in parts of the production line.
Last week, two explosions in Iran resulted in the death of around 100 people and the injury of dozens during a ceremony commemorating the anniversary of General Qasem Soleimani, who was killed in a 2020 U.S. drone attack.
The incident on Tuesday occurred at an industrial complex in Karaj, approximately 40 kilometers west of Tehran in Alborz province.
Media reports stated that the injured individuals have been transported to the hospital, with some in critical condition.
