Former Qatari intelligence founder reveals reasons for media blackout on deteriorating health of Hamad bin Khalifa
Former Qatari Emir Hamad bin Khalifa al-Thani has been in poor health for years, showing signs of illness and physical exhaustion for a long time.
During this period, the former Emir of Qatar suffered a deterioration in his health, which created media blackout and invaded the Qatar Palace; he entered one of the hospitals in Doha in a state of emergency for reasons that remain unknown.
Sources have recently revealed that Hamad bin Khalifa was hospitalized since the early hours of last Thursday, and that there is a large blackout, as a result of tremendous tension within the ruling family due to disputes among them over sharing the cake, which may destabilize the rule of Emir Tamim himself and his removal from power.
According to local reports, there may be changes in the positions and positions of doctors and nurses within the country’s hospitals, including competent ones, and Qataris and patients left untreated are surprised by these strange procedures.
Only reliable doctors close to the ruling family are allowed to see the state of health and oversee the treatment of Hamad bin Khalifa, accompanied by security personnel and the prince’s bodyguards.
Details of Hamad bin Khalifa’s illness
Mahmoud Mansour, founder of the former Qatari intelligence service, revealed in private statements the details of the health condition of Hamad bin Khalifa, indicating that he suffered greatly from diabetes and its complications.
Mansour continued: “Hamad Bin Khalifa, who assumed the Emirate after he turned against his father, was of limited abilities and continued to play into the hands of his Prime Minister, Hamad Bin Jassem. When the role of the Emir diminished, his wife, Mrs. Moza, took care to replace his father, Tamim, to exclude Hamad Bin Jassem from the Ministry”.
He added: There is no doubt that they put themselves under Arab, regional, and international pressures that are beyond their means; This leads us to believe that they are suffering from poor health, and I think that with the worsening of Hamad Bin Khalifa’s illness, Tamim’s brothers might accuse him of being the cause of what happened to their father, and there might be disagreements inside the meal palace.

Hamad entered the hospitals of many countries previously, including Switzerland and the United States, and spent days in intensive care departments. Qatari media always hid all the news related to Hamad bin Khalifa’s health condition. His wife, Moza bint Nasser Al-Missned, posts the pictures she had with her husband, after he emerged from every crisis, as a reassuring way to absorb the shock of the Qatari people, and to try to reduce tension and any unaccounted movement in the ruling family.
Hamad bin Khalifa was born on January 1, 1952. He is the former Emir of the State of Qatar and father of Tamim bin Hamad Al Amir. He assumed power on June 27, 1995 after he overthrew his father, Khalifa bin Hamad Al Thani. He remained in power until he handed over power to his son, Sheik Tamim bin Hamad Al Thani, on June 25, 2013.
