Retrospective 2022: couples who broke up this year
The month of December is, as always, the time to take stock of the past year. It’s not always rosy for the stars. In 2022, several couples ended their union, shaking the people planet.
Shakira and Gerard Pique
After trying to keep their couple afloat until the end, Colombian singer Shakira and Spanish footballer Gerard Pique announced their separation last June, after 12 years together. A rupture linked to an alleged infidelity of the FC Barcelona player. They met in 2010 on Shakira’s “Waka Waka” music video, before getting together the following year. Parents of two children, Milan (9 years old) and Sasha (7 years old), they had become one of the most prominent couples on the planet people.
Gisele Bundchen and Tom Brady
They too were seen as a model of longevity. Brazilian model Gisèle Bündchen, 42, and quarterback Tom Brady, 45, also called it quits in October after weeks of split rumors. Married for 13 years, they formalized the announcement of their divorce on the networks. Parents of two children, Vivan, 10, and Benjamin, 13, the couple at the head of a real fortune assured that they had found an amicable solution.
Kim Kardashian and Pete Davidson
It was, this time, a short-lived happiness experienced by Kim Kardashian, 42, and Pete Davidson, 29. After only nine months of relationship, the influencer and the comedian separated last August on good terms. A break caused by very busy schedules, but also by their age difference – 13 years separate them – had reported at the time a relative to the newspaper Page Six. After her separation from Kanye West, it was in April 2022 that Kim K formalized her relationship with the young comedian. The couple, and especially Pete Davidson, has regularly suffered the wrath of Kanye West.
Jason Momoa and Lisa Bonet
The long love story between Jason Momoa and Lisa Bonet came to an end this year. Last January, the actor of Aquaman and the actress of Dune have put an end to their life together, after 17 years spent under the same roof. The couple, who married in 2017, said they wanted to stay on good terms. “The love between us continues and evolves,” noted Jason Momoa on his networks at the time. Together they are parents of two children, Lola Lolani Momoa, 15, and Nakoa-Wolf Momoa, 14. Lisa Bonet is also the mother of Zoé Kravitz, the fruit of her union with Lenny Kravitz.
Laury Thilleman and Juan Arbelaez
After 7 years together, host Laury Thilleman and chef Juan Arbelaez decided last May to take different paths. A breakup officially announced by the ex-Miss France on Instagram. “The tenderness, the benevolence, the gratitude and the mutual respect that we share remains and will remain intact”, had respectively specified the couple on the networks. They had met in 2015 before getting married four years later.
Emily Ratajkowski and Sebastian Bear-McClard
Model Emily Ratajkowski, 31, has decided to end her marriage to actor and producer Sebastian Bear-McClard. It was the latter’s repeated infidelities that caused this breakup, and Emily Ratajkowski officially filed for divorce last September, just over a year after the birth of their son Sylvester. They got married in February 2018.
Since then, she has been enjoying her single life and the American press continues to want to find her a new suitor. Among them: Brad Pitt or Pete Davidson.
