Houthi’s gang requires urgent international intervention: Waddah bin Attiyah
The Houthi terrorist militia continues to incite and terrorize the country’s religious minorities and declare them infidels. He confirms that the militias have continued their policy of systematic targeting of those communities, as religious minorities have been systematically targeted and intimidated by the militias since the coup, which warns of the disastrous effects on the social fabric and civil peace.
Houthi scandals
An international report has revealed the violations and crimes that affected minorities and religious and sectarian freedoms in Yemen during the war period, and the danger that this poses to the social fabric and security in the country, calling on the parties involved in these violations to stop immediately.
The American Center for Justice clarified that the report was based on accurate data collected during a precise field monitoring process. The report is divided into two main sections: the first reviews the violations suffered by religious minorities, including Jewish, Christian, and Baha’i communities. The second section reviews violations that affected religious and sectarian freedoms in two parts. The first part covers violations that targeted imams and preachers in mosques, while the second part reviews violations that affected places of worship.
Practice of violations
The Houthi terrorist group has committed numerous abuses against religious minorities, including arrests, torture, trials, confiscation of property, forced displacement, looting of real estate and movable property, and the closure of religious schools, threatening to destabilize Yemen internally, says Wadah bin Attiyah, a southern Yemeni political analyst
The southern Yemeni political analyst added that the international community and the United Nations must pressure the Houthi militia to stop its racist practices against religious minorities, and stop its persecution and harassment of people on the basis of their beliefs, as it is a flagrant violation of international laws and conventions, foremost of which are the Universal Declaration of Human Rights and the International Covenant on Civil and Political Rights.
Major crack
He said the sectarian practices of the Iranian-backed Houthi gang caused a major rift in Yemeni society because they targeted social coexistence that has existed for hundreds of years. Yemen has never known a crime of ethnic cleansing or religious exclusion except during the era of the Houthi gang because it is a racist group based on discrimination in all its forms and this idea is reflected in its dealings with minorities.
