After assaulting a security guard, Travis Scott released in Paris

American rap star Travis Scott was released last Saturday without any prosecution after being held for 36 hours in police custody in Paris as part of an investigation into acts of violence, according to one of his representatives in the United States, who spoke to Agence France-Presse (AFP).

The Paris public prosecutor confirmed to AFP that “the custody of Travis Scott was lifted this Saturday, as well as the dropping of charges,” due to “insufficient evidence to classify the alleged act as a crime.”

The prosecutor stated on Friday morning that “the police were called to the George V hotel and arrested Travis Scott for violent behavior against a security officer, who had intervened to separate the rapper from his bodyguard.”

A police source mentioned that the rapper is accused of assaulting the head of the hotel’s night security team, causing injuries when the employee tried to intervene.

The same source added that Travis Scott initially resisted undergoing an alcohol test and refused to confirm his identity.

The source also noted that Travis Scott first received treatment at the hospital after injuring his forehead in an altercation with his bodyguard.

As part of the investigation assigned to the first division of the judicial police, the rapper was placed in police custody on Friday morning, a measure that was lifted on Saturday afternoon.
