Muslim Brotherhood’s Terror Continues in Taiz… Details

Ten people were injured yesterday in an initial toll following the explosion of a weapons and ammunition depot belonging to a Muslim Brotherhood-affiliated military force in a building located in the heart of a residential neighborhood in Taiz, southwest Yemen.

Local sources, cited by Al-Muntasaf Net, reported that a series of explosions occurred in a weapons depot inside a building used by the Al-Sa’alik Brigade, affiliated with the Muslim Brotherhood‘s Al-Islah Party, in the Al-Kawthar residential area near the former Al-Harish Street, in the center of Taiz city.

The sources confirmed that successive explosions struck a facility in the area of the “Central Organization for Control and Auditing,” a government watchdog responsible for combating corruption. Several buildings, now used as barracks by the Muslim Brotherhood, are located there, along with a secret prison and ammunition depots belonging to their military brigades.

The explosion occurred under a security lockdown imposed by the Brotherhood in the area. Videos shared by activists showed artillery shells flying from the facility, while citizens gathered to watch smoke columns rise into the sky.

This explosion once again highlights public and private facilities in Taiz used as military bases by the Brotherhood, who refuse to vacate them despite repeated orders, the most recent being from a committee formed by the chairman of the Presidential Council, Rashad Al-Alimi, during his recent visit to the city.

Taiz, home to Yemen’s largest population, is divided between Brotherhood and Houthi control. Houthi militias control seven districts to the east, north, and west, while 16 districts are under the security and military control of Al-Islah, the political arm of the Muslim Brotherhood in Yemen.
