Warnings against Ignoring High Blood Pressure

High blood pressure is a health condition that requires special attention, as it causes the heart to strain and work harder.

Dr. Ernst von Schwarz, cardiologist and author of the book “The Secrets of Immortality”, warned that the most dangerous thing high blood pressure patients can do is to not take their condition seriously.

He pointed out that many tend to underestimate the issue because it does not cause immediate pain, which has earned it the nickname “silent killer” due to its harmful effects on the heart, blood vessels, brain, and kidneys if left untreated.

According to the British newspaper Mirror, Dr. Cheng-Han Chen, an interventional cardiologist, emphasized the necessity of regularly monitoring blood pressure, whether at home or with a doctor, calling this step “essential” to track the impact of lifestyle and medication on the patient’s health.

Failing to monitor blood pressure can increase the risk of heart attacks and strokes, as well as other complications like kidney failure, vision impairment, and cognitive issues.

Experts recommend lifestyle changes to prevent the condition from worsening, including following a healthy diet, reducing salt intake, exercising regularly, and quitting smoking.
