In a statement from what is referred to as the “Islamic Resistance in Iraq,” it was declared that a drone was launched “towards a vital target in northern Israel.”
The statement emphasized that they would continue their operations against Israel at an increasing pace.
Earlier this month, the Israeli army announced the deaths of two of its soldiers from the Golani Brigade in northern Israel. Israeli media reported that the attack was caused by a drone launched from Iraq.

Israeli army radio reported that the two Israeli soldiers were killed as a result of an explosion from a drone that had launched from Iraq at a military base north of the Golan. It added that this Iraqi strike also injured 23 other soldiers.
The Iraqi armed factions, which are pro-Iranian, include the Hezbollah Brigades, Sayyid al-Shuhada Brigades, and al-Nujaba Movement, forming what is known as the “Islamic Resistance in Iraq.”

These Iraqi factions are part of what has come to be called the “Axis of Resistance,” which has been launching attacks on American bases for about a year in support of Tel Aviv, and more recently against Israel in response to its devastating war on Gaza.
Since April, Israel has confirmed several aerial attacks coming from the east, without assigning blame to a specific party, stating multiple times that it has intercepted drones outside its airspace.
