How the Muslim Brotherhood Exploits the Palestinian Cause

The Muslim Brotherhood has become accustomed to exploiting the Palestinian cause and political events in the occupied territories against Egypt’s stability, attempting to incite the population against the Egyptian state.

Since the first day of the events on October 7, and the violent clashes between the Palestinian resistance and the oppressive occupying forces, which were initiated by the Al-Qassam Brigades, the Muslim Brotherhood, listed as a terrorist organization, has been attempting to distort Egypt’s stance on the war, following the closure of the Rafah border crossing between Egypt and Palestine, which was aimed at protecting Egypt’s national security.

According to Youm7 newspaper, it has been observed that there have been numerous attempts to manipulate Egyptian public opinion by the media of the Muslim Brotherhood against the government, using the tragic situation of Palestinians under Israeli bombings. These attempts have taken various forms, including misleading messages filled with lies and rumors about Egypt’s stance on the Israeli aggression, the passage of Egyptian aid, and deliberate defamation of the state and its sovereign institutions, claiming cooperation with the Zionist entity. Furthermore, the group has promoted Zionist statements to undermine the Egyptian authorities by presenting them as genuine.

The Muslim Brotherhood also attempts, through its media and activists, to separate the official and popular positions regarding the events in Gaza. The Brotherhood constantly seeks to stir Egyptian public opinion against the country’s leadership, spreading lies about the alleged inaction of the official stance on Gaza compared to the public’s stance. This aims to isolate the street’s opinion from the official position of the government and to drag Egypt into a conflict with zero results, leading the country into destruction, which the group desires.

The group clearly denies Egypt’s historical and ongoing role in supporting the Palestinian cause, attempting to separate the street from the government, with the aim of creating negative effects that could influence the electoral process and the full trust the Egyptian people have in their president.
