Cooperation and Global Challenges Top Abdallah bin Zayed’s Talks in New York


Sheikh Abdallah bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs of the United Arab Emirates, held meetings in New York with several foreign ministers of friendly and partner countries.

These meetings took place as part of the UAE’s diplomatic engagement during the 80th session of the United Nations General Assembly. Among those he met were the foreign ministers of South Korea, Cyprus, and India.

Strategic partnerships

The discussions focused on ways to strengthen bilateral cooperation in key areas, including economy, trade, investment, education, health, food security, and culture.

Advanced technology, artificial intelligence, renewable energy, and climate action also emerged as top priorities in the UAE’s partnerships with these countries, reflecting the nation’s orientation toward building future-oriented relationships grounded in sustainable development and innovation.

Convergence on regional and international issues

Beyond bilateral cooperation, Sheikh Abdallah bin Zayed and his counterparts exchanged views on major regional and global issues on the agenda of the General Assembly.

The meetings emphasized the importance of coordination within international organizations and the need to intensify collective action to address global challenges, including political, economic, and climate-related crises.

UAE cooperation with the World Economic Forum

In a related development, Sheikh Abdallah bin Zayed held talks with Børge Brende, President of the World Economic Forum, on expanding cooperation between the UAE and the Forum, particularly in areas related to the global economy, governance, and advanced technologies.

This meeting highlights the UAE’s commitment to consolidating its role as a global hub for dialogue and for shaping innovative solutions to shared challenges.
