Facebook competes with ”Club House” with new audio tool.. Will it work?


Facebook has launched a live voice chat tool today in America hoping to compete with the app Club House.

This came against a backdrop of his popularity ratings for Club House having risen dramatically due to the circumstances associated with the pandemic.

”Live Audio Rooms” allows American Facebook users to listen to and occasionally participate in celebrity or Internet star conversations and launch fundraising campaigns on the platform.

In a statement, Facebook App Director Fidji Simo explained that the new audio functions allow users to “discover, listen to and join conversations about topics of interest to public figures, experts and others”.

How do you invite friends on Facebook “Live Audio Rooms” ?

“Public figures can invite friends, followers, other public figures or any listener in the chat room to be a speaker. The organizer can invite speakers in advance or during the conversation and can have 50 speakers at a time while the number of listeners is limitless.”

Facebook asked a number of people to launch its new product, including rapper D-Smoke, singer Kehlani and civil rights activist and advocate DeRay McKesson.

Live Audio, including online forums, programs and user conversations, was particularly popular during the pandemic, thanks to the success of Club House, which says it has attracted more than ten million users since its launch last year.

New competitors

Twitter and Spotify have also finally started providing live audio services. The group, headed by Mark Zuckerberg, has also announced that it will provide voice blogs in America (podcasts) created by personalities that will be available directly from its mobile app.

Financial analysis firm Feinbold predicted that advertising revenue from podcast would reach a record $1.34 billion in America in 2021.

The amount will rise to $1.7 billion in 2022 and $2.18 billion in 2023, Feinbold estimates.
