A 6.9 Magnitude Earthquake Strikes the Banda Sea in Indonesia… What about a Tsunami?


The European Mediterranean Seismological Center reported that a 6.9 magnitude earthquake struck the Banda Sea region in Indonesia on Wednesday.

The center added that the earthquake occurred 370 kilometers southeast of Ambon in Indonesia and at a depth of 146 kilometers.

The Pacific Tsunami Warning Center stated that there is no tsunami threat resulting from the earthquake.

Initially, the center reported the earthquake’s magnitude as 6.8.
