A Major Escalation in Iranian Attacks: Multi-Warhead Missile Strikes Deep Inside Israel

In a significant shift in the nature of Iranian attacks, Israeli security services estimate that Tehran launched a multi-warhead missile toward the Greater Tel Aviv area on Thursday.

According to Israeli assessments, at least one of the missiles fired by Iran this morning carried multiple explosive payloads or a form of cluster munition.

Israel Army Radio quoted two informed security sources stating: “Israeli security officials believe that one of the missiles launched from Iran this morning was made up of several smaller projectiles, which scattered upon impact in various locations across the Gush Dan region.”

They added: “The Israeli military is currently investigating whether it was a cluster bomb — that is, a warhead that splits into several sub-munitions.”

Bomb disposal units were deployed to various impact zones across the Gush Dan area, including Or Yehuda, Jaffa, Savyon, and other locations.

Israel’s Home Front Command and Air Force are conducting an ongoing investigation into the incident.

The missiles fired today caused extensive destruction in the Greater Tel Aviv area, including Tel Aviv itself, Ramat Gan, and Holon.

The strikes left dozens injured, at least six of them seriously.

According to Israel Hayom, Thursday’s Iranian barrage left 44 civilians injured, including two in critical condition.

In response, Iran vowed to make Israel “regret and pay the price” for its strikes.

On his X account, Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi wrote: “Iran will continue to exercise its right to self-defense with pride and courage, and we will ensure the aggressor regrets their grave mistake and pays the price.”

He accused Israel, his country’s arch-enemy, of “trying to expand the flames of conflict in the region and beyond.”
