A New Google Feature Reads Your Interests

Google is testing a new AI-powered voice feature that provides users with a 5-minute news summary tailored to their interests.
The feature, called “Daily Listen”, is a personalized audio overview of the news that matters to the user. It is generated by artificial intelligence based on each user’s Discover feed and their search history, presenting stories and topics relevant to them.

A Custom News Summary
Imagine waking up to a short, personalized news summary just for you. This is the idea behind “Daily Listen”, which also provides AI-generated transcriptions of the audio.
The feature is now available for Android and iOS users. It can be enabled by going to the Search Labs section and clicking on the triangle in the upper-left corner of the Google app.

A day after activation, users will see a “Daily Listen” card labeled “Made for you” as part of the “Space” circle below the Google search bar. This AI-powered feature also offers controls to play, pause, rewind, or mute the audio.
Last September, Google introduced an audio overview for NotebookLM, which uses AI to convert documents into 10-minute podcasts with virtual hosts that can summarize uploaded materials and make connections between topics.
Recently, Google announced an exciting upgrade to the “Audio Overviews” feature in Notebook LM. Users can now join the conversation with AI tools during podcasts, ask for alternative explanations, or request additional information.
