Al-Sissi to Israeli Prime Minister : We support a just solution with the Palestinians
Egyptian President Abdel Fattah al-Sissi has assured Israeli Prime Minister Bennett of Egypt’s support for a just and lasting solution between Israel and the Palestinians.
The Egyptian Presidential Spokesperson said that Al-Sissi had a phone call with Bennett, Monday morning, on the occasion of his assumption of the office.
The Egyptian president affirmed during the call “Egypt’s support for all efforts to reach a just and lasting solution between the Palestinian and Israeli sides, in order to achieve a comprehensive peace in the Middle East,” the spokesman added.
Al-Sissi also stressed the importance of preventing the escalation of tension between the Palestinians and Israelis, as well as the importance of supporting Egyptian efforts to rebuild the Palestinian areas, and also discussed the development of bilateral relations.
During the call, the Israeli Prime Minister expressed his “thanks and appreciation for Egypt’s efforts to achieve security and stability in the region, its achievement of the latest ceasefire agreement, and its sponsorship of prisoner exchange negotiations.”
Bennett also praised the results achieved since the two countries signed the peace agreement and so far under US auspices.
The Egyptian mediation succeeded in halting the fighting that raged for days in May between Israel and the Gaza Strip.
