Amid the crisis, the UAE allocates job positions for Sudanese individuals

“The United Arab Emirates (UAE) continues to help Sudan, which has been suffering for more than a month after a deadly war broke out between Hemeti’s Rapid Support Forces (RSF) and Al-Burhan’s Sudanese army, causing a major humanitarian crisis.”

Sudanese people to be given jobs

In support of the Sudanese people, the UAE has allocated work positions specifically for Sudanese fleeing the scourge of war and those on its territory. The UAE has also announced the exemption of all fines for violating the Foreigners Entry and Residence Act as of 15 April 2023, in consideration of the humanitarian situation and changes in the circumstances in their country.

The list of categories exempt from fines includes visa holders and expired residence permits for those whose contracts in the country have expired and for those whose time has expired or who have left the UAE. These categories are exempt from fines if they wish to extend their visas, renew their residency permits or leave the country, depending on the circumstances, and in accordance with the relevant conditions and regulations. According to the official WAM news agency.

Supplies and food

To ease the humanitarian crisis, the UAE has sent an aid ship to Sudan, carrying 1,000 tons of supplies and food. The UAE has always been one of the first countries to send direct aid to Sudan, which has witnessed clashes since mid-April.

Since the crisis, the UAE has delivered more than 540 tons of emergency food, aid and medical supplies via 14 aircraft, bringing the total to 1,540 tons.

Two aircraft arrived at Port Sudan airport with 100 tons of emergency medical supplies, supplies and essential drugs for emergency injuries and surgery.

Medical supplies include a wide range of medicines intended for treating injuries and emergencies, drugs such as antibiotics, nonsteroidal drugs, anti-inflammatory drugs, medical wound dressings, surgical tapes and endoscopic kits.

The third plane, which flew to Chad, carried 15 tons of food supplies and aimed at providing urgent support to Sudanese refugees affected by the current conditions in Sudan, which have caused the displacement of thousands of families and a shortage of basic food items.
