Did the Egyptian Government Allow Employees to Work “Online”?

The Egyptian government has clarified the truth regarding the decision to grant a day off on Sundays each week to state employees, allowing them to work from home “online.” It stated that the decision, widely circulated on social media in recent hours, is old from last year and will not be implemented this year.

The media center of the Egyptian Cabinet issued a press release confirming that the video containing a decision by the Egyptian Prime Minister to make Sunday a workday for employees in the “online” mode from home starting next August is not correct.

The council confirmed that these rumors are unfounded and that the circulated video is old and dates back to last year.

The statement added that the Prime Minister’s decision regarding employees working on Sundays each week in the “online” mode was issued to be applied only during August of last year, 2023, without extending or applying it during the current year 2024, urging citizens not to be misled by these fabricated news.
