Discovery of Seven Bodies Inside Car in Mexico
Mexican authorities have announced the discovery of seven bodies with gunshot wounds inside a car in the eastern part of the country, according to the “France Presse” agency.
Five men and two women were found dead inside an abandoned car on a street in the city of Acoltzinco in the state of Veracruz, according to a statement from the local prosecutor’s office.
A source from the Mexican National Guard said one of the victims was a minor. The city of Acoltzinco has long suffered from the war between criminal gangs vying for control of the area, whether it be for stealing fuel from the national company Pemex or for carrying out armed robberies on the roads.
Federal elements have been deployed to attempt to identify those responsible and ensure the safety of residents, according to the governor of Veracruz on social media.
