Doctor warns of the danger of accumulative sugar on nerves
Egyptian doctor, Hossam Mawafi, Professor of Critical Cases at Kasr Al-Ainy Medical School, warned of the risks of diabetes and the appropriate body sugar level.
Mawafi, in his program “Lord, Increase Me in Knowledge” on “Sada Al-Balad” channel, mentioned that accumulative sugar determines the normal sugar level, ranging between 5.5 and 6.
The Egyptian doctor explained that “complications of diabetes can lead to coma, and complications of blood vessels and nerves are related to blood sugar.”
He added, “Diabetes complications affect the circulatory and nervous systems in the body, and the circulatory system is present in every part of the body as it consists of blood vessels.”
He pointed out that “diabetes causes narrowing of the arteries at an early age, and diabetes complications can cause inflammation of nerve endings and numbness in the feet.”
He explained that diabetic foot comes from the diabetic patient’s foot being affected by ulcers, whether nerve-related or arterial, and the treatment for diabetes involves a lifestyle, diet, medication, and exercise.
