Egypt Organizing International Infrastructure Summit

Egypt announced the organization of an expanded international summit next year on “infrastructure and sustainability”.

“The summit aims to tackle issues of comprehensive urban development and the quality of sustainable infrastructure in the African continent and the Arab region,” Egyptian Prime Minister Mostafa Madbouli said on Wednesday.

Madbouli, whose remarks came during the Builders of Egypt Forum, said: “We aim to hold the summit in 2022. Its launch will be determined in coordination with the heads of Arab and African countries and in coordination with the heads of government to invite them to attend the summit.”

The PM added that the major focus for the Egyptian government is to “strengthen investment relations with brothers in African and Arab countries in the next stage, as part of the return of Egypt’s soft power in the region.”

Egypt considers Builders of Egypt Forum an important event for the construction sector in the country.

The Forum has been held annually since 2014, in light of the state’s efforts to improve the investment environment in the field of urbanization and development.
