El-Sisi: The dangers facing our Arab security are the same

Egyptian President Abdel Fattah el-Sisi said on Wednesday that the Arab street looks forward to achieving integration among Arab countries to face common challenges, noting that “the dangers facing our Arab security are the same”.

Speaking at the 31st Arab Summit in Algiers, el-Sisi said that the settlement of Arab crises and dealing with international modernization would be achieved through integration, stressing that the Arab nation possesses the necessary elements for a more stable future, and “we have many common elements that ensure integration and overcome our differences.”

Terrorism

“We face the challenge of sectarianism, intolerance and the spread of armed groups and militias supported by some forces.

Regarding the resolution of the Palestinian issue, el-Sisi said, “Our ability to work together to settle the Palestinian issue will remain a criterion for our cohesion. He pointed out that the Arab initiative gives the Palestinians their state and ends the refugee crisis.

Libya

On the Libyan issue, he stressed Egypt’s desire to reach a political settlement in Libya under a special Libyan leadership. “We look forward to supporting you in our current efforts to settle in Libya without outside interference, addressing Arab leaders.

“We still need more collective Arab action in Libya, Syria, Yemen, Iraq and Sudan,” he said.

Renaissance Dam

On the Renaissance dam issue, el-Sisi called on Ethiopia to show goodwill towards the dam.

“We reiterate the importance of continuing to urge Ethiopia to demonstrate the political will and goodwill necessary to reach a legally binding agreement on the Ethiopian Renaissance in implementation of the presidential statement issued by the UN Security Council in September 2021, and to adopt any of the many solutions that have been put forward through many rounds of negotiations, which secure the economic interests of the Ethiopian people now and in the future, while safeguarding the lives of the Egyptian and Sudanese peoples, ” Abdel Fattah el-Sisi said.

El-Sisi said the water security challenge is inseparable from other challenges facing the region, foremost among which is climate change, which has become an imposed reality on the world.
