Erdogan continues to wreak havoc in northern Syria – Details
The Arab countries, led by the United Arab Emirates and Egypt, have started to get closer to the Syrian side in order to find a solution to the crisis and save millions of people from the war that has been raging for more than 11 years.
Observers believe that such a rapprochement would block Turkey’s path once again and spoil its plans to occupy part of Syrian territory.
Erdogan’s Plans
Syrian sources revealed that Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan has begun to revive his militias in northern Syria again.
The sources continued: Erdogan has spent nearly $5 million over the past two months on extremist militias in northern Syria.
It added: that Erdogan has ignored his country’s major financial crises and allocated millions to get militias back in business to cause chaos.
Observers believe Erdogan is preparing preemptive plans to foment chaos in Syria in anticipation of Arab states reaching an agreement with the Syrian government that would eliminate all militias and armed groups.
Syrian human rights sources confirmed that there are intense movements inside training camps belonging to Turkish militias.
It continued: “Militia members and sleeper cells have been called upon to return to work in anticipation of any scenario”.
Terrorist militia
Erdogan has been supporting terrorist militias in northern Syria since around 2013 when IS emerged.
Dozens of government and judicial documents revealed Erdogan’s support for the group and its facilitation of its members’ crossing into Syria to establish what was then ISIS.
Despite Erdogan’s repeated denials of these accusations, he has not offered a single explanation for his decision to open the border with Syria, facilitate the transit of extremists, and open Turkish hospitals to treat ISIS and Jabhat al-Nusra leaders.
After the group’s collapse, most of its leaders fled to Turkey, and its leader, Abu Bakr al-Baghdadi, was found in a village on the Turkish-Syrian border that is under Turkish occupation.
