Famous Band Demands Trump Stop Using Their Songs

The record company of the famous band “ABBA” asked former U.S. President Donald Trump, who is running in the presidential elections, on Thursday to stop using the Swedish band’s songs in his campaign.

According to “Agence France-Presse,” Universal Music, based in Sweden, confirmed that it had documented the use of several of the band’s songs at least once in the promotional campaign of the Republican candidate.

The company stated in a statement: “We have requested the removal of these songs.”

Universal Music and Polar Music International confirmed that they “have not received any request from Trump to use the songs in question, nor have they granted Trump any permission or license to do so.”

A journalist from the Swedish newspaper “Svenska Dagbladet” reported that ABBA songs, including “The Winner Takes It All,” were played at a Trump rally last July in Minnesota, where there is a large Swedish community.

A ten-minute old video of the Swedish band performing some of their most famous songs was also shown on a giant screen.

In addition to ABBA’s record label, other famous musicians, including Bruce Springsteen, Neil Young, Céline Dion, and “The Rolling Stones,” have also asked the Republican candidate to stop using their songs in his campaign.
