Five killed in South Sudan cargo plane crash
Officials at Juba Airport in South Sudan announced that five people were killed Tuesday, when a small cargo plane crashed shortly after taking off from the airport.
Authorities have begun investigating the incident, which involved an Antonov-26 plane operated by Optimum Aviation, a local company, airport Director General Kur Kuol said.
The victims were all crew members of the plane carrying barrels of fuel for Maban district in Upper Nile state.
“South Sudan lacks reliable ground transportation and infrastructure, forcing some to use aviation to transport some cargo”.
