According to Agence France-Presse, the mountain gendarmerie unit in the Chamonix region reported that emergency teams were ready to act, but bad weather conditions prevented intervention on Monday morning.
Gendarmes were alerted on Saturday about “three groups of lost climbers” near the summit of Mont Blanc.
Rescue teams managed to evacuate a group of South Korean climbers at an altitude of 4100 meters, using specialized equipment near the Brenva Pass.

However, worsening weather conditions prevented the continuation of rescue operations for the other two groups, which include more South Koreans and Italians.
A rescue official told the newspaper Le Dauphiné Libéré that the Italian climbers had been located at an altitude of 4600 meters, and brief contact was made before communication was lost.
