France – Successive blows to the Brotherhood in Europe to control its extremist activities

The Muslim Brotherhood in Europe is living under a tight siege, accompanied by a state of siege, after the European security clampdown on the various activities of the group. This came after the old continent felt the danger of the terrorist group’s plans targeting the security and stability of European countries and the desire of the members of the group to expand their activities to compensate for its losses in the Middle East.

Crackdown on the Brotherhood

French authorities have foiled the sale of a plot of land to a school in the quiet southeastern city of Valens, on an area of 8400 square meters, after suspicions of suspicious activities by the Muslim Brotherhood terrorist group using the school as a cover.

French reports said that the school administration filed a complaint in which it considered that this step is racial discrimination and prevents it from increasing its space to receive students, without clarifying the question marks about the school’s activities and its relations with the Brotherhood, according to the French newspaper Le Figaro. The newspaper mentioned that in a call with the Agence France-Presse, the governor of the city of Valens refused to talk about this matter, especially after the controversy raised the school’s relationship with the terrorist Muslim Brotherhood.

The Charlie Hebdo newspaper, which is widely distributed in France, published details about the administrative association responsible for managing the school and its relations with the Muslim Brotherhood. This led to controversy on a broader level, pointing out that there are legal problems on the ground, especially taxes, in addition to the school’s dependence on the Brotherhood, confirming that the government has one of its duties to look at the offending activities.

European efforts

Dr. Oqila Dabishi, a political analyst and director of the French Center for Strategic and International Studies, said: “There are many European efforts being made to confront the danger of extremist groups in Europe, in addition to freeing mosques and schools from foreign influences, in addition to monitoring financial donations, and also to combat attempts to secede from French society.”

The Director of the French Center for Strategic and International Studies added that the French efforts to confront the threat of the Brotherhood are the main objective of combating extremism and confronting the expansion of the Brotherhood, in addition to working to besiege terrorism through laws that make it difficult to obtain residency and grant visas to foreigners, especially after the development of terrorist bases in Europe.

Proactive steps

The French government decided to close places of worship for up to six months in the event of suspicions of incitement to violence, justifying terrorism or armed jihad in a preemptive step to avert the dangers. Several religious associations were recently banned in France due to the presence of extremist suspicions and funding from foreign sources, numbering more than 25 premises belonging to religious associations.
