France: two suspects detained in the Bulgari jewelry robbery case


Two men were indicted and detained yesterday Friday on suspicion of having participated in the robbery of the jeweler Bulgari Place Vendôme estimated at 10 million euros in Paris last September.

The two suspects, aged 26 and 37 and from Seine-Saint-Denis, according to a police source, were arrested and taken into custody on Tuesday at the Brigade for the Suppression of Banditry (BRB) of the Paris judicial police.

One of the two was charged with charges of gang robbery with a weapon, participation in a criminal association, concealment of theft, refusal to comply with endangering the life of others and crime of absconding, according to the judicial source. On September 7, 2021, a team of robbers robbed the Bulgari jewelry store on the iconic Place Vendôme, for an estimated loot of 10 million euros.

According to the Parisian, four of the robbers had fled on scooters but three others had boarded a BMW, abandoned after a chase with the police in the capital.

A policeman shot and wounded in the leg one of the thugs who was then arrested the same day, charged and detained.
