Brotherhood Danger
For his part, Dr. Jassim Mohammed, researcher in international security and terrorism and head of the European Center, believes that in 2014, intelligence reports revealed that the activity of the Muslim Brotherhood in Germany exploits its its proximity to institutions and decision-makers, and is considered more dangerous than terrorist organizations. He explained that there is a movement within the German Parliament (Bundestag) to put the Muslim Brotherhood in Germany within the framework of the ban, to impose strict measures on its activity inside Germany, and to know the funding directed to it from inside and outside, adding that the Christian party, led by former German Chancellor Angela Merkel, demanded to ban the group in 2019, and the same project was proposed by the Alternative Party in 201.
The researcher of international security and terrorism in Germany added: The German government has taken some measures, and indeed imposed strict measures, and also the Supreme Council of Muslims has removed all the organizations that represent the Brotherhood, and stripped its members of their positions and activities, especially Ibrahim Al-Zayat, who is the Minister of Finance of the Brotherhood in Germany, and the source of funding for the international organization of the Brotherhood, clarifying that the Constitution Protection Authority recommends disclosing the sources of external financing for the Brotherhood, and differentiating between the Brotherhood organization and the facades it operates and hires behind, whether in the form of individuals or institutions. Jassim confirmed that the government took a few years ago a decision to remove the Brotherhood from the German arena, pointing out that the recruitment of imams, humanitarian organizations, private schools, investment companies, and orphanage centers are all behind them in Germany.
