Houthi Propaganda Attack on the Muslim Brotherhood… A New Attempt to Mislead Yemenis

A leader of the terrorist Houthi militias launched an unprecedented attack on the Al-Islah party, the Muslim Brotherhood’s branch in Yemen, despite ongoing meetings and coordination between the two terrorist groups to impose their projects and agendas on all segments of the Yemeni population.

Hussein Al-Ezzi, a member of the Houthi movement’s political bureau, sent a message to the governor of Marib, Sultan Al-Arada, an affiliate of the Muslim Brotherhood, regarding the death of poet Rashed Al-Hattam inside one of Al-Islah’s prisons in the city. However, Houthi-controlled prisons themselves witness atrocities and crimes that have claimed the lives of hundreds of Yemenis.

He wrote on X: “What is happening in Al-Islah’s prisons is systematic criminality, as testified by all those who have returned.”

He added: “This is why the party persistently refuses any visits to its dark prisons and refrains from any cooperation with the Red Cross or any other organizations.”

Al-Ezzi concluded his post by stating: “Remaining silent about these events is a great disgrace and a deviation from ethics. We consider the United States (and the countries supporting terrorism in Marib) to be the primary culprits behind the suffering of the tortured.”

Many observers have pointed out that this attack by the Houthi leader is purely propaganda, aiming to exploit any public opinion issue, particularly crimes committed by the Muslim Brotherhood, to create the illusion of a rift between the two groups. However, facts confirm that both entities are in continuous coordination and collaboration, making this another attempt to mislead Yemenis.

Meanwhile, the International Committee of the Red Cross has called on all parties in Yemen to ensure immediate and unconditional access to individuals detained due to the conflict.

In a previous statement, the organization noted that access to numerous detainees remains restricted in several areas, emphasizing the need for change in this situation to serve the interests of all parties involved.

Since their coup against the legitimate government in late 2014, Houthi militias have kidnapped thousands of citizens and activists opposed to their rule.
