Since May, cases of MonkeyPox virus are listed in the Paris region. This virus is transmitted during close contact with pimples, by sharing linen (sheets, towels, etc.) or toilet materials. Coughing, sneezing and sexual intercourse constitute a risk of transmission. The disease heals on its own in about 3 weeks after isolation of a symptomatic person.

What are the symptoms of monkey pox?

Fever

Headaches and sore throats

Muscle aches

Painful glands under the jaw, in the neck

Pimples on face, hands, soles of feet

What are the measures to be taken in the face of this virus?

If possible, cover the skin lesions with a bandage or cloth.

Wear a surgical mask in case of the presence of a person or in case of essential outings.

If you have a pet, it is recommended that it does not come into contact with you during the entire isolation.

In the event of contact with an infected person, alert your relatives to raise their awareness and inform them.

Also ensure regular ventilation of the room where the infected person is.

The vaccine can be offered to people considered to be at-risk contacts, as well as to exposed healthcare professionals.
