Joint Saudi Council : Prepare for Investment Opportunities in Knowledge Economy

Leaders of Saudi and foreign business councils have confirmed that the coming period will witness a greater reaping of investment opportunities that align with Saudi Arabia’s knowledge economy aspirations.

More so, the leaders affirmed that major strategic partnerships will be forged to help achieve Saudi goals.

Kamel Al-Munajjed, Chairman of the Saudi-Italian Business Council, confirmed to Asharq Al-Awsat that the overall comprehensive vision for the work of Saudi foreign business councils in the coming period is to double the effort to reap the largest investment opportunities that fit the Saudi goals in the knowledge economy field.

He predicted that the plans of the Saudi-Italian Business Council will bear fruit in coming years.

These plans will maximize the strategic partnerships between the two countries in the transfer of technology and industries, and the transfer of experiences that support Saudi goals for becoming a global economic, industrial and knowledge center.

Al-Munajjed expected that the Saudi-Italian Business Council will implement an important strategy based on enabling companies to create the largest volume of job opportunities, increase the volume of joint investments, and work to provide sufficient information about investments in general.

All this will take place while increasing the exchange of trade delegations, finding joint mechanisms to enhance trade and investments between the two countries, expanding the fields of health information technology, small projects, education, and technical training.

The Council will also seek to take advantage of opportunities for cooperation in the Green Middle East Initiative and reducing carbon emissions.

Al-Munajjed pointed out that there are vital areas, such as tourism and entertainment, that the Kingdom is currently interested in forging partnerships with Italy.

Cooperation can also be established in several other fields, such as infrastructure, education, transportation and health.

According to Al-Munajjed, Saudi Arabia and Italy are working to strengthen future strategic partnerships in technology industries, energy sectors, cyber security, financial sector, infrastructure, design, engineering, and industry.

The two countries are also exploring new vital partnership opportunities included in Saudi Vision 2030.
