Netanyahu changes Gideon’s Chariots 2… and here is the evacuation schedule in Gaza

Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu is preparing to launch the largest ground operation aimed at seizing control of Gaza City, but under a new name.
According to Israel’s Channel 12, Netanyahu proposed changing the operation’s title from “Gideon’s Chariots 2” to “Iron Fist.”
Under the plan, the evacuation of hundreds of thousands of residents to the south will begin tomorrow, a step described as the official prelude to the storming of the enclave’s center.
The Israeli army has already initiated preparatory steps, with four military divisions moving into positions around central Gaza and surrounding neighborhoods.
Last Thursday, Netanyahu approved the plans to resume the ground maneuver, while preparations continue for a mass evacuation of the city’s population, estimated at about one million civilians.
In recent meetings, specific timetables were outlined: reservists called up under emergency orders known as “Tzav 8” are to assemble at the beginning of September, reaching full readiness within one to two weeks. The comprehensive assault is expected to commence in mid-September.
However, disagreements have emerged within the leadership. The political echelon is pressing for a faster timetable, while the military insists on a more deliberate planning process to minimize losses and ensure success.
Israeli security sources emphasized key considerations: the safety of hostages held by Hamas, minimizing casualties among soldiers, evacuating Palestinian civilians, and maintaining international backing for the operation. The army stressed that this was not procrastination but careful preparation.
Meanwhile, talks over a potential hostage deal are ongoing. Hamas has declared its willingness to accept the formula Netanyahu agreed to two months ago, while Netanyahu insists on a “comprehensive agreement.”
Channel 12’s “Ulpan Shishi” program revealed that an Israeli negotiating delegation will leave in the coming days for a new round of talks, potentially in a location other than Doha.
