Oppenheimer: Christopher Nolan comments on the first reactions of the audience

Christopher Nolan reveals that the first viewers of his upcoming film “Oppenheimer” came out of the theater devastated, according to Allociné.

If the atomic bomb devastates everything, Christopher Nolan’s film centered on its creator J. Robert Oppenheimer has the same effect on viewers!

The director told Wired magazine that after the first test screenings of Oppenheimer, the audience left the room devastated.

Some people left the room absolutely devastated. They were unable to speak. There is an element of fear that is present in history and in the foundations. But the love of the characters, the love of relationships, is stronger than anything I’ve ever been able to do.”

Christopher Nolan then adds: “Oppenheimer’s story is made up of impossible questions. Impossible ethical dilemmas, paradoxes. There are no easy answers in this story. There are only difficult questions, and that’s what makes the story so fascinating.

I think we’ve been able to find many reasons to be optimistic in the film, frankly, but there’s this sort of overarching question hanging over it. It was essential that there are questions that remain unanswered in people’s brains and that incite discussion.’
