Palestinian Political Analyst: The Occupation is Deliberately Strangling Gaza… and the International Community Fails to Act

The humanitarian crisis in the Gaza Strip is worsening day by day as the Israeli aggression continues and restrictions on the entry of humanitarian and relief aid increase, despite ongoing international condemnation of the catastrophic conditions civilians are facing.

International and UN organizations, notably the United Nations and the Red Cross, have warned of a complete collapse in health and food systems in the territory, stating that the aid currently reaching Gaza is insufficient and fails to meet even the minimum needs of the population, especially amid mass displacement and infrastructure collapse.

The UN agency OCHA confirmed that crossings remain under severe restrictions that hinder the entry of essential supplies, while over 80% of Gaza’s population requires urgent assistance — both food and medical.

It added that hospitals are operating at minimal capacity and suffering from severe shortages of medicine and medical equipment.

Several major countries and human rights organizations have called for the urgent opening of safe and sustainable humanitarian corridors to ensure the uninterrupted flow of aid, holding Israel responsible for the worsening crisis due to repeated attacks on shelters, hospitals, and civilian infrastructure.

In the midst of these dire conditions, children, women, and the elderly are living under harsh humanitarian circumstances with no clear solution in sight, while official international silence persists, with no concrete steps being taken to protect civilians or stop the severe violations against them.

Palestinian political analyst Mustafa Ibrahim stated that Israel is deliberately pursuing a policy of strangulation against the residents of Gaza by obstructing the entry of essential humanitarian aid, amid a deteriorating humanitarian situation and the absence of any serious international response.

Speaking to Al-Arab Mubasher, he said: “Blocking access to food, medicine, and clean water for more than two million Palestinians constitutes a war crime under international law,” pointing out that Israel is deliberately using aid as a political pressure tool, with no regard for the catastrophic reality civilians are enduring.

He explained that hospitals are operating under near non-existent conditions, suffering from critical fuel and medical supply shortages, while thousands of families are sheltering in facilities that lack even the bare minimum of life essentials, with growing warnings of disease outbreaks.

He added that aid organizations, led by the United Nations, can no longer operate effectively due to repeated Israeli obstructions, rendering relief efforts largely symbolic with little real impact on the grim reality in the Strip.

Ibrahim stressed the urgent need for immediate Arab and international action to open permanent humanitarian corridors, free from political blackmail, affirming that the steadfastness of the Palestinian people in Gaza will not be broken despite the blockade and starvation — and that history will hold accountable all those who abandoned Gaza at this critical moment.
