Russia Says It Struck Ukrainian Logistics Centres and a Cargo Ship in the Black Sea
Russia’s Defence Ministry announced on Saturday that it had targeted Ukrainian logistics centres and warehouses, as well as a cargo vessel allegedly operating in support of the Ukrainian armed forces.
In a statement, the ministry said that “the Russian armed forces continued overnight drone strikes against logistics centres, port and transport infrastructure, communications hubs and maritime vessels operating in support of the Ukrainian armed forces”.
According to the ministry, the strikes targeted several locations, including the Northern movable bridge over the Dnipro River in Kyiv. Moscow claimed that the bridge facilitates troop movements and the delivery of logistical support to Ukrainian forces.
The Russian military also struck the Hostomel logistics centre in the Kyiv region, where supplies intended for the Ukrainian armed forces were allegedly being stored, the statement added.
The ministry further claimed that Russian forces targeted a cargo ship while it was sailing through the north-western Black Sea. According to Moscow, the vessel was carrying dual-use cargo to the port of Odesa on behalf of the Ukrainian armed forces.
