Salah Abdul al-Haq: The Brotherhood’s Non-Agreed Guide

Failed attempts by the Muslim Brotherhood terrorist organization to bring an end to the internal conflicts that were the main reason for its total collapse, including the appointment of a new acting leader, Salah Abdul al-Haq.

Abdul al-Haq’s appointment raises doubts about the continuation of disputes and conflicts within the organization, which is struggling in vain to survive, especially after unsuccessful efforts to end the dispute within the conflicting wings of the organization. The “Mahmoud Hussein” wing was a hardliner and rejected any attempts by someone else to control the group’s capabilities outside of their group, specifically Mahmoud Hussein himself.

Why Salah Abdul al-Haq?

Prior to his death, the will of former leader Ibrahim Munir played a major role in the selection of Salah Abdul al-Haq, as he recommended in writing the appointment of “Abdul al-Haq” as his successor. The reason for the delay in the implementation of the will is the group’s preoccupation with successive blows it suffered in several Arab countries, foremost among them “Tunisia”, “Morocco” and “Algeria”.

Salah Abdul al-Haq was sworn in, while Mahmoud Hussein’s faction refused to swear allegiance to him, allowing the disputes to continue between the two sides.

Who is Salah Abdul al-Haq?

Salah Abdul al-Haq, a 77-year-old member of the 65 Group known for assassinations carried out by the group in the 1960s, is considered one of the group’s ideologues, the architect of its external deals, and the most prominent Brotherhood fugitives in Turkey.

Dispute Over ‘Abdul al-Haq Within the Group

As evidence of the Muslim Brotherhood’s collapse, the Mahmoud Hussein Front issued a statement at the end of last year denouncing the steps taken by the Ibrahim Munir group, including internal elections and plans to appoint a new charge d’affaires. Salah Abdul al-Haq was named an old member of the Brotherhood’s Shura Council and was one of the party’s education officials.

Salah Abdul al-Haq came after the apologies of the leaders of the London Front, Mohammed Abdul Muti Al-Jazzar and Mohammed Al-Desouki, for health reasons. And Mohammed Al-Beheiri hesitated to lead the Brotherhood. The Front considered that Salah Abdul al-Haq, a member of the 1965 organization, is the most suitable member for its leadership in the current phase, provided that Mohieddin Al-Zayt is responsible for the Egyptian organization at home and abroad.
