Serious Disease Threatening Human Lives Spreads in American State

Health experts in the United States have warned of a deadly disease threatening human lives, spreading among ticks throughout the state of Utah.

The disease, known as “Tularemia,” or rabbit fever and deer fly fever as well, can cause skin ulcers, gland swelling, and other symptoms if transmitted to humans.

According to the “Daily Mail,” the Utah Department of Wildlife Resources found the remains of 9 dead ticks due to Tularemia, which shocked experts as the last reported case of animal mortality related to the disease was in 2017.

Experts state that the disease is usually transmitted through tick bites or deer fly bites, direct contact with infected animal blood, or drinking contaminated water, or consuming undercooked infected rabbit meat.

They explained that the bacteria causing this infection are present in many parts of Utah.

Ginger Stout, a veterinarian at DWR, stated, “However, it is unusual to see such a large number of dead animals due to the disease at one time.”

Reports indicate that the United States witnesses fewer than 300 cases of Tularemia annually, and although there are antibiotics to treat the disease, it can become fatal if left untreated.

Experts are concerned that the increasing number of dead animals due to the disease may indicate a possibility of rising infection rates.
