“Sexual Bully” – Actor Kevin Spacey Faces New Charges in London
Hollywood actor Kevin Spacey, a two-time Oscar winner, was described as a “sexual bully” on Friday as his trial continued in London, where he faces a series of charges related to sexual crimes.
Prosecutor Christine Agnew addressed a jury at the Southwark Crown Court in London, using the full name of the American star, “Kevin Spacey Fowler, an actor; many of you will know that already.”
She added, “He is an extremely famous actor and has won several awards. He is also, according to the prosecution, a man who sexually assaults other men.”
Agnew pointed out that Spacey, who has won Oscars for his performances in the films “American Beauty” and “The Usual Suspects,” did not respect personal boundaries.
In her opening statement on Friday, the attorney claimed that Spacey is “a man who revels in making others feel powerless and uncomfortable, he is a sexual bully.”
She continued, stating, “His preferred method of attack, it seems, was to forcefully grab the sensitive areas of other men,” adding that “on one occasion, matters went further than that.”
Spacey, 63 years old, denies three charges of indecent assault, seven charges of sexual assault, and one charge of inciting a person to engage in sexual activity without consent.
He also pleads not guilty to a separate charge of inciting a person to engage in sexual activity involving penetration without consent.
These alleged crimes against four men, whose identities are protected by law, occurred between 2001 and 2013.
Agnew stated that Spacey has denied some of the allegations, describing them as “wholly invented,” while acknowledging that some of the other charges relate to consensual relationships.
